How do we embed environmental justice and racial equity into a regenerative economic model?
July 9, 2021
11:00 – 12:30pm EST
It is no surprise that the linear economic model of “Take-Make-Dispose” has created countless environmental crises. Extracting resources from the earth, and their ultimate return in the form of waste, often pollutes adjacent ecosystems and communities. Historically, the communities most impacted by environmental waste have been low-income, communities of color. This has created untold negative impacts on the long-term health and human potential of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) communities.
As we begin to shift our approach from a linear economic model to a regenerative model, we have an opportunity to embed environmental justice and racial equity into our collective governing systems.
Join us July 9th for a conversation with our panelists on how we can embed environmental justice and racial equity into a regenerative economic model.
